== Historical Background ==
The name Seymour Creek derives from a documented incident during the War of 1812, in which an Ohio militia scout named Seymour was killed on one of the bluffs overlooking the creek. His fellow scout was captured by Native Americans and later ransomed in Detroit. The creek and nearby landscape have since remained largely rural and undeveloped, preserving much of the area's natural character.

There is no documented history of battles or massacres occurring directly at the bridge itself, but the presence of scouts and military activity in the region during the War of 1812 provides some historical basis for the legend.
